Today (or to be more precise, this week), I have mostly been listening, in rotation, to Patty Griffin boots from her UK tour last year.
Great memories!

But apart from the surname thing, people quite often get my first name wrong anyway. I get called either Christine or Charlotte all the time. But the one I hate most is Claudette, that really, really drives me insane. [/quote]

I'm eagerly waiting for the postman to deliver barbara Dickson's new CD. I've heard good things. Amazon have dispatched so it's just a matter of time.

I received Barb Jungr's new CD, Walking In The Sun, this mornin. Well two. One from Linn records and one from Barb.
It's a delight to listen to and I'll post more when I've listened to it a few more times.

You're very lucky Dylan I ordered a copy but I'll just have to wait patiently for the release date!
I'm listening to Kathleen Edwards 'Building 55' at the moment, from her pre 'Failer' days. It's fabulous.

Thanks for that Dylan Wonderful!
It's been a Lucinda Williams sort of day for me today. I listened to Essence and Car Wheels earlier. And Live at the Fillmore is playing now.

Mindy Smith - 'Long Island Shores'
Her debut album was always going to be a hard act to follow but 'LIS' is steadily growing on me

Hello Campers,
May I humbly commend to you, "The Calling" by Mary Chapin Carpenter? This new hot waxing is getting very dizzy through constant spinning on my digital turntable. I am afraid it has beaten Patty Griffin's latest album all ends up (they arrived together: sorry Potter!).
For me, this is a major return to form for MCC compared to the last couple of albums. She is such an intelligent and interesting songwriter and I just love her world-weary sounding voice. In particular: try and listen to "On With The Song" (for the Dixie Chicks). An object lesson in how to make a bitter and angry song sound melancholy and uplifting at the same time.
Oi'll give it foive!

I'm looking forward to hearing Nanci Griffith's latest album.
Tomorrow evening I'm going to see Air at Manchester Academy so am playing their latest, Pocket Symphony this evening.

I'll try resurrecting this.
Been listening to loads of good stuff recently. This week I got Rosanne Cash's new CD, The List, which is made up of some songs from a list her dad gave her of his 100 essential country songs.
The CD had mixed reviews but there is some good stuff on there.
