I'll try resurrecting this.
Been listening to loads of good stuff recently. This week I got Rosanne Cash's new CD, The List, which is made up of some songs from a list her dad gave her of his 100 essential country songs.
The CD had mixed reviews but there is some good stuff on there.

I wholeheartedly agree with Squidney ! What a great gig it was. It's difficult to believe that playing of such depth and skill is coming from someone as young as Davy !He is also so modest and has a great stage presence (must have learned that from CC !). The band seemed to be enjoying themselves as much as the crowd, working together really well with lots of visual banter. The Borderline was packed and the audience were very enthusiastic, and rightly so. It takes a lot to grab the attention of a London audience, but Back Door Slam even managed to reduce the usual talking at the bar to a small number of people - everyone else was too busy listening. No wonder the band have been doing so well in the USA - let's hope we get to see more of them over here too. Thoroughly recommended Good to see so many talented people in the audience too - CC of course, plus Rob Cross, Steve Lima and Christy DeHaven.

Yes gig was great! You would think that Davy had been playing guitar for 30 years or something, which would be a bit tricky considering his age. Just so effortless! well worth catching them if or when they play the Uk again next year. worth listening to the Robert Elms interview on Radio London at about 1,35 in if you haven't heard Davy here... he plays an acoustic number.
It was also a great social evening too! Got to meet and talk to a lot of familiar faces - finally put a face to Bertil B, met up with ChrisH, waved at Christy De Haven (!) chatted to Rob Cross and talked with Steve Lima (producer extrodinaire) as well as BTBF or should that now be just BTF(?) and CC of course! I want to do it all again! More please!

Hi Guys,
Just left comment on the "Roll Call" thread and mentioned the Borderline gig there but thought I should say something here too! The gig was packed ... 90 paying punters and the rest invited press and promotions bods - essential for more gigs/airplay/written articles etc.
Davy and the band flew in from the States on Sunday morning so not much time to get acclimatised! The back-line equipment that was "ordered" for the gig didn't turn up!!! So there was a panic to sort something out with very little time to spare ... but the crisis was averted and all else went according to plan; apart from me doing bvs - they simply ran out of time to get anything else set up - ah ... I'll get to do some on the iom next Monday though - hurrah.
It was a very exciting night and Davy played his socks off . He even managed to whip the normally jaded London crowd into a loud and cheering frenzy. It was great to see Chris H, Mr and Mrs Squidney and Bertil B before, during and after the show! I think they were all impressed? Nudge, nudge, wink, wink ... any comments?!
The band were really tight and have such a rapport with Davy, it's easy to see their connection and respect for one another ... always a joy from an audience point of view. The response was brilliant ... it couldn't have been better really. The only disappointment was Davy's amp blew half way through the encore .... so the music came to a stuttering halt.
Fingers crossed they'll be back and playing many more UK dates next year and more of you will be able to see them live - yeh.
Hope you're all well? Bob and I are back to the Island tonight and off to OZ next Wednesday ... Oct 14th! I'll be away till January! I'll make more of an effort to keep in touch - honest. I have a whole slew of Flip videos from our time in the States this summer, to edit and Blog about ... soooon ....

Hi everyone!
Sorry there's not as much going on here as there once was. I find it easier to make regular comments on Twitter and Facebook. I know they're less personal in a way but somehow they're easier for me to use. I truly appreciate your support and energy and love that you've all connected and care about each other. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end!
I should start to be more present on the Live scene again in the next year or so and that usually generates more interest ...
I was thrilled to see Chris H, Mr&Mrs Squidney and Beril B at the Borderline on Monday. A fantastic gig. I didn't bv in the end due to lack of set-up time and a panic over a complete no-show of equipment! All came together just in time. Davy was on fire and managed to whip a generally too-cool-for-school London crowd into a whooping and cheering frenzy! A delight for those of us hoping for a positive experience for the Band's first UK forray.
There should be more gigs in the offing next year ... I'll keep posting dates etc on FB/Twitter and here ...
Hope you manage to keep connected ... I feel better knowing you're here and always love to see any and all of you face to face.
